The 天美影视传媒 was selected as a 2021 Progress, Accomplishment, Thriving, Hope (PATH) Scholarship recipient through the Ellucian Foundation, a technology solutions company for higher education. The PATH Scholarship program provides grants to higher education institutions to support students facing economic hardship.

South received $25,000, the largest amount available, which will be distributed to students in financial need to help cover unexpected costs or simply help with such items such as food, housing or even gas.

Brooke Moore, director of student financial success and support services, and her team applied for the grant through the South CARES program, which helps keep students enrolled.

鈥淭he South CARES emergency fund was designed to support students when unexpected financial challenges arise,鈥 Moore said. 鈥淪ometimes, the only thing standing between a student completing their semester and falling out is an expense as small as several hundred dollars.鈥

Other grant programs provide students with tuition awards, no-interest loans and even technology support, but the PATH program provides 鈥渏ust-in-time鈥 flexible support when students need it most.

鈥淭he message here is that a student鈥檚 academic success should be a result of their hard work and not the unpredictability of life,鈥 Moore said.
