The World is Coming to USA: Leisure Congress Kicks Off

The 天美影视传媒 prepares to welcome 350 delegates from 58 countries to campus for the World Leisure Congress event. USA faculty, staff and students are invited to attend sessions to be held from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Mitchell Center. Admission is free, with USA identification.

The day will include sessions on education and the importance of recreation. There will also be talks and demonstrations on leisure and technology and the importance of enhancing the human condition. The prestigious event will continue in Mobile throughout Sept. 12, at the Mobile Convention Center.

Dr. Erwei Dong, assistant professor of health, physical education and leisure studies in the College of Education at USA, was instrumental in securing the 2014 World Leisure Congress for Mobile. The Port City was chosen over Melbourne, Australia.

American legendary baseball player and Mobile native Hank Aaron is serving as honorary chair of the 2014 World Leisure Congress.
