Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work: Assistant Professor of Sociology

The ÌìÃÀÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½ invites applications for a full-time (9-month), tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology position to begin work on August 15, 2025. Applicants must have a PhD in Sociology or a closely related field. Applicants who can teach and conduct research in any area of Sociology are welcome to apply. Sociology faculty also frequently collaborate with other departments and programs in conducting research, especially in the areas of health disparities and the environment.

The campus is located in a thriving metropolitan area of over 400,000 people on the scenic northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Mobile sits at the intersection of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta and the Gulf of Mexico and is one of the most biodiverse locations in the country.
